1. Consistency is Key- Lets face it, its not sexy, it can sometimes be less than exciting…. but it trumps everything… it is absolutely key!
  2. Progress is Slow and not always linear- arr this has been an incredibly frustrating lesson to learn…. Somedays you feel on top of the world… somedays training is such a slog!  We all feel it… understanding that it will take time and never goes in a straight line helps….a little.
  3. Progressive Loading is your friend- So often my clients are afraid of injury when loading their plates…. however you need overload to progress… even the smallest amount will make changes… if you are cautious of more weight, why not try more reps, more time under tension is progression!

  5. Resilience is in all of us- injuries suck, illness sucks, frankly sometimes life sucks….. however reflect back on various stages of your life you can see how resilient you actually are…. and this applies to lifting or training.
